Upgraded to Lightroom 1.3 and Mac OS 10.4.11

Did a backup first of course! Super Duper and my LaCie 160 GB Firewire 800 Drive rock! Have observed no problems unlike others! Lightroom 1.3 seems faster! Holding off on Leopard upgrade until all Lightroom niggles are sorted out. Haven't tried PictureSync with 1.3 but if it doesn't work there's a supported Flickr exporter now so that won't be an issue! UPDATE successfully posted this photo with the new exporter!

Leopard, Picturesync, Lightroom

I use all three of the above successfully. That's the latest of each part. It all works just tickety boo. I use an Airport Extreme disk to store all my photos, which seems to be working just fine. The piece of my workflow I don't currently like is the bit getting images from the camera into Lightroom. Lightroom can do it, but it seems very slow, I used to use Image Capture (which I loved for it's simplicity) but that does work in the new version of Leopard (I get a 'This application can not be used with this version of Leopard' message) and i really don't want to use iPhoto as a go between. Any ideas would be welcome :-)

buy a firewire 800 reader and a UDMA card

and upload to a firewire 800 drive

i have all of the above (except the UDMA flash card) and boy is it fast! you'll wonder why you didn't do this sooner, time is money etc!

Lightroom's SDK is really

Lightroom's SDK is really very good, indeed much of the funcitonality offered by PictureSync such as remembering uploads and updating is now implementable directly in plug-ins (the example Flickr plug-in can replace prior uploads). This provides a fairly good integrated environment for working with your photos both locally and online—PictureSync isn't going to try competing with this and with respect to Lightroom functionality will focus on its metadata mapping/rules functionalities. I'm sure it'll only be days before more fully featured plug-ins are released by willing devs…
